Very cool! I wonder if I’d like such a thing. There’s just something about an actual book… the cover art, real pages… I might miss that… but I think I’d really enjoy the convenience of such a cool toy!

Eight minutes isn’t bad at all for that. In fact, I’ve seen a lot of this happen and the TSA work quickly. For 4 years I flew in and out of Dallas each week and have a lot of experience with all this screening in many domestic airports. TSA is very careful. When you fly with children, you best plan on an extra half hour for screening. Quite frankly, if passengers paid attention to things and followed very simple instructions, the TSA wouldn’t have to put up with so much crap.

It took MUCH too long? It took 8 minutes total fro mwhen she first went through the initial screener until she was released. First, they had to go get a female, 2nd level screener to wand her. That took about 90 seconds. Then they took her & the baby to the 2nd level screening area. Then they had to wand her and also had to wand the baby. Then they had to remove the leg brace or bandage that she had on her leg and send that to be x-rayed. Once that was off, they wanded her again to see if that changed anything. 8 minutes isn’t bad for an adult and an infant. She admits on her blog that she was being difficult throughout the process. How can it be that 8 minutes to wand a difficult woman & her baby be considered MUCH too long? Are we really that spoiled?

I checked her site, which is once again up with a new entry, commenting on the TSA video. Unfortunately comments can’t be read. I also looked at the TSA blog and read most of the comments. Lots pro Nic, lots contra. I tend to believe her. There was no reason for them NOT to let her go through the screening one more time, without her son for example. It all took MUCH too long.

P.S. I rarily check WordPress anymore… blogging anywhere is just not what it used to be *sigh*

Yes, we had lots of fun and it’s too bad we waited that long to get into it. But by the end of the evening, my daughter was complaining of the ball’s weight, so hopefully we’ll find something much lighter.

Thanks for the advice. I will try that and let you know how it worked out.
